UKISCRS Medal Lectures

The Society has three prestigious Medal Lectures, with two past eponymous Medal Lecture's, The Pearce & Choyce.

​

The lifetime acheivement award invites leading Ophthalmologists who have made a contribution to both ophthalmology and UKISCRS over the years.

​

The Rayner Medal lecture occurs every 2-years and is supported by Rayner IOL Ltd. The selected lecturer is chosen by UKISCRS.

​

The new lecture for 2023 is the Ridley Eye Foundation Award Lecture, in honour of Sir Harold Ridley.

Founded in 1976, UKISCRS is one of the oldest implant societies in the world. A brief history of the Society can be found here.

 

UKISCRS has an active membership of over 400 doctors from the UK and Ireland as well as a number of international members. UKISCRS is at the forefront of promoting education and learning in cataract and refractive surgery.

 

UKISCRS is a CIO (Charity Incorporated Organisation) with Charity Number 1191256. It is administered by the Council, which comprises the Trustees, Officers and elected representatives from the membership.
